2010 Summary of Art

Well here we go, I finally decided to do this. Not much new to show actually.

Except that this year has not really been productive. Go figure. So lets start this:

January: That is when the earthquake happened, and I had to move from Haiti to live with my mother in Alabama. This was done at my aunt's house in the Dominican Republic. Was quite angry back then.

February: I settled down more in Alabama, and only start drawing till the end of the month. I had a thing with portraits, so I tried some realism. Didn't work out too well.

March: Nothing much to say there. Mostly sketched stuff that month. Especially at school.

April: Tried new things. Ended learning quite a bit that month. On this picture though, I was never happy with the end product.

May: This and April were quite productive compared to the other months. Experimented with more things and ended up with somewhat satisfactory results at the time. This month marks the very last full picture I ever did for myself. Which is the picture shown here. Yep. Everything else was art for other people.

June: Was about ready to leave Alabama to go back home. Was pretty happy at the time. Completed lots of owed art like trades and gifts. This one in particular was a trade for ~flarekitty.

July: The very beginning of July was when I had completed my trade for *Amadoodles and I had spent 10 hours straigtht working on it. Soon after I traveled back to Haiti and nothing really came out of that month besides small things.

August: Had to come back to live in Florida. Was not happy. Settling was very hard for me, and I was not productive at all. It wasn't until the very end, thanks to art class, I popped out a few drawings for an assignment.

September: Not much there either. Still haven't found much inspiration and still not very comfortable living in Florida. Getting used to things. This was one of the very few things I ended up drawing.

October: Things are getting better lifewise. Still stuck in artblock artwise though. This pic was a tryout for an adoptable from =AbelPhee. Still never finished it, but I got the adoptable anyway.

November: Much better lifewise and a little better artwise. I doodled and sketched very few stuff, but didn't bother to post much. Decided one night I just had to post something worthwhile, so I made a gift sketch for :devastrozerk:

December: Tablet broke right at the beginning of the month. So I was stuck with nothing much traditional. Didn't sketch much, but did a few gifts for some people for Christmas. Learned quite a few neat tricks in art. Came back to Haiti for Winter break. And that was about it.

So now that I have a new tablet and all, hopefully more art will come from me next year. I really hope so. This year was very blah artwise and I feel I could have done more. Unfortunately for me, I have to say 2010 was the crappiest year for me ever. So much change in so little time. It was quite overwhelming and depressive. I surely hope 2011 will be much better borth artwise and lifewise.
So resolutions would be to do more art, and of course improve more in my art. I will be looking forward to that. Especially some art for myself. Because as you can see, the first half of the year was pretty good for me, but the second half...I must say I barely had anything for myself. Gotta fix that.
